San Diego International Triathlon

Checkrnthis race out – this will probably be a club race in 2010 – next yearrnwe are going to be even bigger!! If you haven’t done it you have to dornit.

San Diego was perfect, beautifulrnweather, great venue, the company of other athletes – friends andrnfamily. This year the club decided to get together at a destinationrnrace – not to far away so that it was affordable and did not requirerndays off to get there. San Diego was a perfect choice.
The course isrnmy favorite – sorry Lake Mead – a safe ocean swim, an awesome bikerncourse which takes you to the top of Point Loma and a pancake flat runrnalong the city’s ocean front. I think everyone I talked to in the clubrnreally enjoyed the course.

Saturday, rnthe day before the race you go to the expo – rack your bike – and thenrnenjoy the best course talk in Triathlon by the charismatic president ofrnthe SD Tri club – I learn something new every time and laugh myrnposterior off. rn

Thenrna club dinner with families at La Pizzeria Arrivederci – this yearrnabout 30 people including athletes and their families showed up torncelebrate our sport and our lives. rn

Racernday was everything we hoped for with a micro brew beer corral at thernend. Monica won her age group and Victor placed third in his afterrncompleting IM CDA the previous week – We had about 15 athletes andrnabout 30 friends and family there as well – Congratulations Everyone!!!rn
