Swim Las Vegas is the only triathlon and open water specific USMS team in southern Nevada. SLV provides underwater videotaping, stroke technique analysis, intermediate and advances freestyle stroke drill clinics, private one-on-one coaching sessions and open water group training plans for area races. SLV coaches are experienced swim training technicians and ASCA certified coaches who focus on the efficient and technical aspects of swimming.

Paul Fritz, aka “Head Slave Driver”, is an accomplished kayaker who has competed in over 125 triathlon events and is an ASCA Level 3 coach. He is an innovative and supportive instructor and is not afraid to tell you how it is. He’s been swimming and coaching for… a long time.

Kara Robertson aka “Assistant Slave Driver”, does the dirty work for Swim Las Vegas and regularly competes in endurance swims. Kara is an ASCA Level 2 & Masters coach who loves to instruct beginners. She recently completed a 10.85 mile endurance swim in 56º water, without a wetsuit.

Jackie Arcana has helped hundreds of individuals pursue their athletic lifestyle dreams and reach for the next level for the past ten years. She herself has competed in over 100 endurance events including multiple Ironman and marathon distance races. Jackie is the 2 time winner of the first Nevada Women for the Silverman Full distance triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run), in both 2007 and 2009. The Silverman race is considered by triathlon legend Dave Scott to be the toughest in the world. In 2007 she was ranked 57th in the nation by USAT, which earned her an Honorable Mention All American.
Average Joes Multisport Training team has dedicated themselves to coaching, as well as educating endurance athletes for a combined 10+ years. From marathons to long course triathlons and first timers to competitive age groupers, the coaches have been successful in getting the most out of each athlete as individuals while keeping the experience fun. We also understand that most athletes have families and careers to balance, so the Average Joes coaches have worked to developed training plans to help the everyday athlete balance everyday life.

Growing up in California Chuck is a life long swimmer. Chuck’s resume includes short course to Ironman distance triathlons, as well as numerous marathons and cycling events.

Kevin holds a certification from Team in Training in run, walk and triathlon. Kevin grew up in Hawaii, living a very active outdoor lifestyle, which included cycling, running, hiking, surfing, golfing and fishing. Kevin has developed his teaching style of coaching as a former baseball and basketball team sports coach, as well as a professor at UNLV. Kevin’s resume includes short course to half Ironman distance triathlons, Xterra off-road triathlons, marathons, cycling and mountain biking events.
Lowery’s Multisport is a company that develops triathlon races and athletes with a little twist of imagination and excitement. Our objective is twofold: to create unique and fun events for everyone from 6 to 106, and to continue to challenge the triathletes in Southern Nevada. Frank Lowery, President of Lowery’s Multisport Races, Inc. is a long time competitor in the sport of triathlons holding national ranking from 1990 to 2003. Since 1986 he has completed in over 149 triathlons including 3 Ironman and more than 40 Half Ironman races. He is a graduate of the University of West Florida and holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports. Frank’s career as a coach began with a youth soccer team 17 years ago. For the last 12 years however, his primary focus has been coaching swimming at both the age group and masters’ levels. He currently coaches the Henderson Nevada Masters Swim.
Las Vegas Masters Swimming – Coach Vic Hecker, the Las Vegas Masters swim group is geared toward the serious athlete. The group focuses on swimming and has several nationally and internationally ranked age group swimmers and triathletes.

Coach Vic is a veteran coach who has worked with not only masters’ athletes but is also a former UNLV swimming coach. While geared toward the serious athlete Coach Vic continues to introduce many beginners to the sport. Vic has been coaching swimmers for more than 35 years. His athletes include recreational, triathletes, competitive swimmers. He works with the competitive level swimmers to set goals and specializes in discerning the critical differences to success.
